New developments made in the third transnational meeting (TPM3) held on the 3rd and 4th of April at the University of Eastern Finland, in Joensuu, Finland.
The third SIMOnS meeting held at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), in Joensuu, was critical to discuss the ongoing developments in the mobile app.
The team composed of five institutions from Italy (UCLV), Portugal (UMAIA), Finland (UEF), Lithuania (VIKO) and Greece (UPatras) gathered to discuss the findings from the user trial implementation of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP). The results will serve to improve the SIMOnS app, allowing better usability, navigation and learning experience about digital skills.
The refined version of SIMOnS app is expected to be launched in the next weeks, showing an interactive learning environment for university students. This will result in the finalisation of the WP4 and the beginning of WP5 which is the pilot implementation stage. For this purpose, the Italian partners have summarised the recruitment phase and the methodology used in the pilot implementation which will take place across the countries of the consortium during the next months.
Other ongoing working packages were also discussed, namely the project management (WP1) and the communication and dissemination (WP2), in which, for instance, the UPatras partners updated the team with social media metrics.
SIMOnS at Koli National Park
To get inspiration for developing SIMOnS app, the partners visited the Koli National Park surrounded by stunning forest landscapes and frozen Lake Pielinen in the horizon.
Koli was formed about 2 or 3 billion years ago from the remnants of the ancient Karelides mountain range, hosting a diversity of animal species including wild bears and lynxes.
The snow made its magic for a real Finnish experience in its proximity to the Artic .
Simpsons are back and SIMOnS members did not want to fall behind this trend. So a team photo was generated using AI. The problem was that it only recognised seven of the eight members. But this was easly fixed with a new prompt to show up the missing member of the Simpsons-SIMOnS family.
