Partners from Lithuania, Finland, Greece and Italy attended the first transnational meeting of SIMOnS project at the hosted institution University of Maia, in Maia, Portugal, on the 1st and 2nd of February, to discuss the work packages of the project.
The first day started with presentations of all partners' institutions within the consortium (UMAIA, VTDK, UPatras, UEF and UCLV) and an overview of the project's deliverables for each work package.
It then followed the presentations and discussion of the leading partners responsible the work packages regarding the literature review and content production, and the development of SIMOnS app, which is expected to be released in mid-20205.
At the end of the first day, the team gathered for a social dinner at a typical restaurant in Porto, allowing them to try Portuguese traditional cuisine like codfish and octopus, served with local wine.
The second day was filled with more presentations and discussions regarding the project's dissemination and budget, ending with a celebrating lunch of "francesinhas".
As the two-day trip to Portugal was blessed with unusual warm temperatures of 20º Celsius in February, the team went for a boat drive in river Douro to sightsee UNESCO's world heritage river bank in Porto and remarkable bridges, including the D. Maria Pia railway bridge built by Gustave Eiffel.
